Background
What I was up to

I was fortunate enough to spend the summer of 2018 working at Yahoo! as a Product Design & Prototyping Intern. There I was able to meet and work with a group of people who were passionate about voice. 

Since my work is protected and subject to an NDA, I'll give very broad strokes of my experience and sprinkle in irrelevant pictures of me enjoying the Yahoo! intern life.

Yahoo! Voice Email Service
A new and secret voice experience

Worked with design, research, engineering to develop an early voice assistant product. Created dialog scripts, interaction models, multi-modal screens, and lambda function triggers. Ran surveys and aided research team with studies on voice assistant privacy, accessibility, and usage.

Voice Experimenting & Prototyping
Exploring new interactions with Alexa SDK

Designed and prototyped experimental voice interactions (chimes, SSML, intent chaining, etc).

Again can't really show what I did, so enjoy poorly shot gif of me awkwardly singing my heart out to Smash Mouth's Allstar at a company event

Brownbag on co-created voice design guidelines

Presented the culmination of my work on voice to designers + voice advocates at Oath/VerizonMedia.
